Provence diary: day 1

The first stop after 16 hours spent in the bus was in the beautiful city of Avignon. We arrived there early in the morning so the city was just waking up. It was so nice to have true French croissant for breakfast. It was part of the day when cafes are opening and calm French are meeting to have breakfast together before they go to work. I was surprised by the weather. The different between Czech and French weather was almost 20 degrees.

Our trip continued to Pont du Gard beautiful roman aqueduct. The bridge crosses the river in which we could refresh. It wasn't so warm for bathing, but it was fine to soak legs.

After we accomodated in the hotel we went to Nimes. Half way on foot, half way by bus. In the city we visited arena, had something for dinner and buy baguettes for breakfast. I love french food!

Have a nice Monday!

It's time for celebrating

This weekend we celebrated my cousin's birthday. It was the first time this year we went to our cottage. It was quite cold but I enjoyed it anyway. Sometimes it's nice to get away from the city and spend some time at the countryside without mobile and internet. I baked cute cake with smarties and cholocate cat tongues and everybody liked it. It was such a great day!

Spring is in the air

Spring is my favourite season. Because it's all about flowers and I can finally clean up all heavy winter coats into my wardrobe. In Czech, there is spring in full swing and I really enjoy it. I love cooler mornings and warm sultry afternoons, I love evening dew and I love scent of blooming cherries.

Marble cakes recipe

This year I welcomed my favourite month of April with super-easy homemade pastries. I fell in love with this healthy (except whipping cream and topping ;) ) tiny marble cakes. Here is the recipe:
1 cup of buckwheat flour
☼ 1 cup of oat flakes
1/2 cup of unrefined sugar
3 eggs
☼ vanilla sugar
☼ 1/2 baking powder
☼ 1 whipping cream
☼ handful of chopped almonds
bake on 180°C for 15-20 minutes

...And as topping I used Sacher glaze from Manner. Yum! I wish you happy 1st April and hilarious baking!
